FEATURES OF STORAGE WINE

Not all of us have a personal wine cellar at our disposal, which is an ideal place to store wine for a long time, or a closet with the ability to maintain the specified temperature. But as it turned out, it is possible to keep a noble drink and not owning these luxuries, it is enough to know the basic rules for storing wine. We will talk about them.

FIRST: TEMPERATURE.
And to be more precise, a certain temperature. The best are + 10-12 degrees, and for representatives of dessert strong wines + 14-16, rosé and sparkling wines require lower values. For short storage fit and refrigerator. But it should be noted that prolonged shaking / vibration can spoil the taste.

SECOND: TIME.
Early wines are not stored for a long time, they should be consumed no later than 2 months after ripening. Some for the disclosure of all the colors of your bouquet takes time. These are wines from Cabernet, Syrah, Chardonnay grapes. Such beverages reach their highest taste by 15 years, 20 years later, the aging process begins, and closer to 50 years, wilting begins. But there are those that can be stored for up to six decades (tokay and Madera), and the “long-liver” sherry can last up to 160 years. In order for the cork not to dry as long as possible, the humidity of the air in the room should vary at the level of 60-80%, and the position of the bottle should be horizontal. If the selected location is hidden from the sun, tannin oxidation will slow down.

THIRD: NEIGHBORS.
Wine as a magnet absorbs extraneous odors, so even closed bottles should be kept away from pickles (cabbage, cucumbers), fresh vegetables and products that have a rich aroma.

SMALL THINNESS.
The gifts of Dionysus can be kept for many years and even decades, but this rule does not apply to open bottles. After opening, a bottle of white wine must be placed in the refrigerator. Red wine can be stored for three days at room temperature, not forgetting to cover the cork. If you became the owner of a keg of wine or purchased in plastic containers, then you will need a dark glass bottle to store it.
